Become a Volunteer!

We are always looking for a good volunteers. Volunteers are absolutely vital to the Library's day-to-day operation. They help with shelving, children's programming, book processing, special events, and many other projects within the library.

Volunteering is a good way to meet new people and gain valuable experience that can be useful in future endeavors.

If you are interested in signing up as a volunteer, please click here for more information.

Teen and adult volunteers are needed at the library. Those interested in volunteering must be 14 years of age or older. Minors (ages 14 – 17) must fill out the paperwork at the Reference Desk with a parent or guardian, and volunteer hours for minors may count toward community service hours. Minors ages 12 and 13 may also volunteer provided their parent or guardian is physically in the library at all times that they are volunteering.

Examples of volunteer tasks including shelving, stamping cards, preparing new patron registration packets, other clerical duties and assisting with children’s and teen program. Please call the Library at 827-6950 and ask for Anne regarding teen volunteers or Teri regarding adult volunteers.

The Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library has a unique connection to volunteers: they were the very founders of the library. We have come a long way since our first library, a small, white trailer trailer  run by our first dedicated volunteers. The building of our current library was, and continues to be, a community effort.

We even have a special VolunTeen program for people ages 13 to 18, and time worked can be applied to school or church community service requirements.  In addition to regular volunteer duties, VolunTeens are welcome to help with math tutoring and reading to children. They may also join the Teen Advisory Board and have a say in their library materials and event programming.

If you would like to volunteer, please pick up an application at our Reference Desk.  We would love to have you as part of our library team!  For more information on volunteer opportunities, please call Teri Van De Water, Volunteer Coordinator, at 827-6950.  See you at the library!
